Rocks and boulders don't stand a chance when you're in an ARGO
The ARGO was designed specifically to (among other things) climb up rocks. With its sturdy Rawhide III or Runamuk Goodyear tires it can grip and claw its way up gravel pits, rock piles and even large boulders. In the event that you need to get up this type of rugged terrain, the versatile ARGO is your answer.
We asked Rich Mellon, the host of TV’s “Outdoor Quest” to test drive the machine and evaluate its rock climbing capabilities and here is what he said. “I had an absolute blast in the new ARGO. This machine is capable of going up, over and through almost any type of rock terrain, given enough traction.”
Another good example of the ARGO’s dominance on rocky landscapes is the world renowned Rubicon Trail located in the California High Sierra Mountains. In both 2004 and 2005 a brave group of ARGO enthusiasts set out to see just exactly what the ARGOs were capable of. The Rubicon Trail is known as the ‘granddaddy of all off-highway trails’ and is approximately twelve miles of rocky, non-maintained El Dorado and Placer county roads. Along the way the group faced steep rock cliffs, challenging ravines and even a few bears which they managed to scare off with some pepper spray. Nevertheless the group completed the trip and proved beyond a doubt that the ARGO is the perfect vehicle for rocky terrain.
